Josh Tingler
Pastor of Student Ministries

Josh@ibcwv.org

Josh grew up in and around West Virginia, calling the Kanawha Valley “home” for most of his grade school years. He trusted in Jesus at a young age under the nurture of Christian parents and was baptized at the age of nine. Since that time, Josh’s life has been a journey of growth and discipleship in learning to follow Jesus daily. Upon moving to the Eastern Panhandle in 2005, Josh and his family joined Independent Bible Church. After high school, he completed a bachelor’s degree in Bible from Baptist Bible College (PA) in 2010 and returned to IBC to serve in the capacity of Middle School Coordinator. In March 2012 he accepted the call to be IBC’s Pastor of Student Ministries, a position he held until launching with Grace Church in August 2020. In March of 2014 Josh was blessed to marry Joy, who has been his companion and support in life and ministry. Joy, an Eastern Panhandle native, is a communications graduate of Columbia International University in South Carolina. Since joining the pastoral team at IBC, Josh has continued his education with a Master of Arts degree from Biola University and a Master of Theology degree from Union School of Theology in Wales. Josh and Joy enjoy exploring small towns, camping and hiking in the mountains, attending classical music concerts, and watching baseball. Josh also spends as much time as possible in the company of a cup of coffee and a good book.
