Never The Same

On April 12-14, IBC will experience Missions Weekend 2024 with our theme, NEVER THE SAME. Look forward to hearing from seven of our missionaries in person, including our Croatian church planters, Miro and Ivanna and our Ukrainian missionary, Vlad. The full schedule is listed at https://www.ibcwv.org/events

Steve Richardson will be our keynote speaker around the theme Never the Same. If you haven’t seen Steve’s video by this title, visit the following link.

Steve’s parents reached the Sawi tribe of Papua in the 1960’s and his father Don Richardson told the remarkable story in Peace Child. This Never the Same video recounts the visit back to the Sawi and surrounding tribes 50 years later by Steve, his dad, and his two brothers. It documents the dramatic change in a culture because the Gospel was received, the church planted, and hundreds of lives came to Christ.

Steve will be speaking on Sunday morning and evening about why getting the Gospel out worldwide to change people and communities is STILL the most important mission on earth. Steve’s recent book, Is the Mission Still Great? answers eight myths that undermine missions in people’s thinking today.

Don’t miss our Saturday evening MISSIONS FAIR for all ages at 6:00 PM in the Outreach Center. We will give a free copy of Steve’s book to all, one per family. In addition to visiting displays from our workers around the globe, Arlene Richardson will speak and tell the story of her book Threads, and how God used quilting to open the pathway to unreached Muslims in the cities and villages of Indonesia.

Pray for Missions Weekend and pray that we as individuals and as a church will “Never Be the Same” because of our response to God’s call.
